We saw this place on the travel channel like most of the people we met that day. We were a bit disappointed in the one shower and one flush toilet in the same room setup. causes a long wait to use either. The people were very nice during business hours but after the 4pm closing time have little patience with customer inquiries. We were highly suprised to find that the campground that has lots of desert hills around it had such a beautiful wet lands area on the west side." mosquito repellent" This was the first time I have heard bullfrogs singing. The coyotes singing in the distant hills was also a fun time. The mining was hard work. It would also be nice if they offered appraisels of the finds just to give you an idea of what you had. Bring some shade, lots of water, and tools to dig in hard dry clay like soil. big pick, big shovel, and a big screw driver that can be hit with a hammer, that is also good for prying. This was our destination. We left with very little. Will not recommend this as a destination spot.

I am planning on taking a little vacation and October sounds great. It's not to hot and probably not cold.
