Opal is my favorite stone, as fore mentioned, which is pretty cool, because, I found out later that it is also my birth stone (October baby). Now that I found this site (and mine), I hope to visit someday soon. By the way... That 130 lbs opal log is absolutely beautiful. What a find!

Discovery Channel sure put on a good show of your mine! As I type a couple of my co-workers are planning a holiday trip to here to dig for opals. I wish them well and a fortune in stones and fun times. Fortune hunting is not my forte but if providence journeys in your local I will like to chance a day or two quarrying for 'opalus niger.' Good luck and safe digging to all that visit your mine site. Mic

Found your site at the end of summer 2006,have been looking forward to your opening and to the experience of finding opals. Am amazed that you have raised your rates from $70. a day to $145., I have been getting everyone I know interested and we had planned a trip to your mine in June....not sure everyone can afford to make the trip now, especially as there are 8 to 12 of us......why such a hugh rate increase ? What if a couple (2people) want to share an area by each working it for half a day, would they still have to pay 145 each ? Thanks in advance for your prompt reply. Connie Inwood
